Get involved...  Whether you have a copy of "Marisol's Journey"," PARIS ONCE UPON A TIME" or the "Lithium Desert War", I would like to discuss with you the following questions and more if you have them.   You can write on the blog comments or contact me by email.  I would love to talk with you.  Pobladoboy@gmail.com.

1. Did Marisol's sexuality surprise you?

2. How did Steven's acceptance of the sexual life, the extravagant life,  they lived make you feel?  Did you empathize with his acquiescence, lucky guy, or did you question it?

3.  Did you feel that Tatiana being an employee was exploited by Marisol?

4. Which places in the novel have you visited.  How did the author do when I offered up my descriptions of the places?

5.  If you knew someone who had a secret like Marisol's would you... shun her, understand but dislike her... help her know she is valuable... help her in her efforts at redemption? By the way, her grandfather, Rene Carraud has his name changed from the real person, Rene Bousquet.  Look him up?

6.  What are the main plot points that might seem the most unbelievable?  The afternoon in the park? The night at the opera?  The confrontation with Herriot, Tsingani or Tio Marcel?  The afternoon at the spa?

7. Have you known someone like Jeffie?

8.  What were you thinking about Marisol's plans for Angharad in Bruges?

Goodreads Review.. 5 STARS

FIVE STARS!!!

"PARIS ONCE UPON A TIME"
is a classic love story. Rose depicts Steven, a man of great musical talent who, after years of “playing the field,” meets the one woman who completes him. Marisol is a complicated, sophisticated, French heiress involved in wonderful charity work. They meet in France by sheer chance and almost immediately their beautiful romance begins. Her family’s background is filled with fascists and Nazi collaborators. They are relatives that she eliminates from her life.

They quickly become a couple. and Rose’s story creates a travelogue of beautiful, and often exotic places. During their myriad vacations, they enjoy incredible epicurean delights. Rose pays tremendous detail to both the history of the regions, focusing often on places of religious and/or historical fame, and their very upscale dining experiences.
Steven’s background is musical. Originally from New York, he lives in San Francisco and spends his life teaching, but is greatly involved in a well-known choir. He travels on business for them a great deal, particularly in France, and because of this is highly familiar with many areas. Steven and Marisol’s romance leads to marriage and over the years they encounter people in their travels who become interesting dear friends. Rose’s knowledge of opera, classical, and other styles of music, gourmet dining, and both architecture, and history make this a most interesting read. I enjoyed the details about the couple’s lovely, albeit short life together. This is a classic story of two lovers who have found a perfect life together.
